On 14 August and 15 September 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata extended educational support to students at Bodhikun School under the patronaged of Wat Thai Magadha through the donation of school backpacks, educational materials, essential school supplies, dry food, and lunch. The initiative reflects Thailand’s continued commitment to promoting education, empowering young learners, and supporting sustainable community development in Bihar.

Education serves as a powerful foundation for transforming lives and creating pathways towards a brighter future. Through this initiative, Thailand seeks to provide children from disadvantaged backgrounds with greater opportunities to learn, grow, and pursue their aspirations with confidence. More than material support, the programme represents an expression of care, encouragement, and belief in the potential of every child.

The activity further highlights the important role of Wat Thai Magadha as a centre of compassion, learning, and local community partnership. Beyond preserving Thailand’s Buddhist heritage in the sacred land of Buddhism, the temple has become a centre of social contribution and empowerment, working alongside local communities through education, humanitarian support, and development initiatives that uplift children, and support vulnerable families.

This initiative reflects the enduring friendship between Thailand and India, demonstrating that the strength of bilateral relations is built not only through government-to-government cooperation but also through genuine connections among people. By sharing knowledge, compassion, and opportunities, Thailand continues to foster mutual understanding, trust, and goodwill with the people of India.
