Due to a frightening political instability and violence taking place in Egypt, Thai Government has decided to evacuate Thai nationals from Egypt. Two private aircrafts (each carrying 119 and 130 Thai nationals respectively) arrived at Kolkata Airport form Dubai at 22.00 on 19 August 2013 for refuel.

In this regard, Mr.Prasittidesh Vichitsorasatra, Consul General along with the officials from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Kolkata, have visited and helped providing meal for all 249 lives in the aircrafts. Consul General took this opportunity to deliver speech to provide moral support and encouragement to the Thai students, workers and all the Thai nationals. The last aircraft left Kolkata Airport for Thailand at 00.30 am on 20 August 2013.
