Destination Thailand 2012, Kolkata

 On 23-24 March 2012  the Royal Thai Consulate General in Kolkata organized an event  “Destination Thailand 2012” at Hotel the Park, Kolkata. In the event, a  dance troupe from Thailand was flown in to perform several shows to the guests. The guests comprised high ranking officials in West Bengal, heads and members of consular corps, management of several chambers of commerce and industry in Kolkata, Friends of Thailand, Indian prominent businessmen in Kolkata, Thai businessmen, Thai community and students.

The guests viewed the performances with great joy and appreciation. Various kinds of Thai snack, food, dessert and fruit were served at the two day event.

 At the advent of the event, Mr. Prasittidesh Vichitsorasatra, Consul General of Thailand in Kolkata, gave an address mentioning the long standing and friendly relations betweenThailand and India. Last year, some 900,000 Indian tourists visited Thailand. Trade and investment between the two countries are on the rising trend.

He also mentioned that this year, Thai people all over the world would joyfully celebrate the 80^th Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand.
