On 1 July 2024, Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata called on Shrimati Bandara Preyashi, Secretary of the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of Bihar during her visit to Bihar to seek a possibility on cooperation in building restrooms and resting areas at the foothills of Dungeswari and Brahmayoni hills, which were the places where Lord Buddha practiced self-mortification, and peached Ādittapariyāya Sutta (Fire Sermon Discourse) to the 1,003 Chadils (fire worshippers) respectively. The proposed cooperation aims to provide more convenience for Thai monks and pilgrims, especially the elderlies, who frequently visit both places in large number.
