On 3 April 2024, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata jointly promoted Thai tourism in Kolkata with Dusit Hotels & Resorts, a renowned Thai hotel chain, in an event entitled ‘Dusit Hotels and Resorts India Showcase 2024 in Kolkata’ at The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata. The event was a business matching between local travel agents with Dusit Thani hotels in various Thai cities which are very popular among Indian tourists such as Phuket, Pattaya, Hua Hin, and Bangkok (scheduled to open in September this year), including with those outside Thailand. Around 60 participants attended the event, and there were several large travel agents interested in business collaboration with Dusit Hotels and Resorts especially for incentive travels.
Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata took this opportunity to thank all local travel agents for their unwavering support and cooperation for making Thailand a priority destination for their clients. Particularly from Kolkata, it would be only a few hours flying distance. With the visa-free scheme for Indian tourists, Thailand would definitely be one of the most accessible and well-loved travel destinations for Indians. She also underlined the Consulate-General’s role in promoting and facilitating tourism from India. She invited Indian travel agents to stay at Dusit Thani, which is a favourite Thai hotel brand for tourists all over the world, since Dusit is famous for offering affordable Thai-inspired luxuries and unmatched Thai hospitality. She also invited them to visit Thailand in April to enjoy Thailand’s new UNESCO intangible cultural heritage - Songkran Festival.
