On 24 August 2024, Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, visited the Kripasaran Buddhist Mission in Darjeeling and organized a CSR activity titled “We Do Good by Heart” for underprivileged children. This meaningful initiative, inspired by His Majesty the King of Thailand, aims to encourage Thai people to contribute positively to those in need.

During the visit, the Consul-General provided sportswear and school supplies for 67 children, hoping that this support will help pave the way for a brighter future for them. She also had the chance to learn about the Mission’s history and its ongoing efforts and enjoyed several vibrant performances by the children.

The Kripasaran Buddhist Mission was founded in 1975 by Venerable Dhammaviriyo Mahathero, the then Chief Abbot of Gandha Madan Vihara. Its mission is to support underprivileged children in Darjeeling by providing free shelter, food, education, and Dhamma studies.
