Consulate-General Siriporn Tantipanyathep strengthened closer relations with Gaya Administration

Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-general of Thailand to Kolkata met with Dr. Thiyagarajan S.M., District Magistrate of Gaya cum Chairman of Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) and Dr. Mahashweta Maharathi, Member Secretary of BTMC on 21 May 2024 to discuss about the upcoming religious ceremony and volunteer activity in Bodhgaya, in honour of His Majesty King of Thailand’s Sixth Cycle Birthday Anniversary in July 2024.
 
The Royal Thai Consulate-General in collaboration with Wat Thai Bodhgaya is planning to celebrate this auspicious occasion. On 19 July 2024, the Consulate-General plans to plant flowers at Mahabodhi Mahavihara by volunteers and on 20 July 2024 offerings to monks at Mahabodhi Temple. There will be a Buddhist Ceremony in honour of His Majesty at Wat Thai Bodhgya and candle lit procession around the sacred Bodhi tree at the Mahabodhi Temple. The Consul-General has extended an invitation the District Magistrate of Gaya and Member Secretary of BTMC. Both of them accepted the invitation and agreed to extend all necessary assistance to the Consulate-General. The Consul-General also expressed her heartiest appreciation to the Gaya Administration for all kind of possible assistance extended to all Thai Buddhist pilgrims visiting Bodhgaya and looked forward to further strengthen closer cooperation with Gaya, Bihar.
