Kolkata, one of India’s most respected Buddhist institutions. This revered occasion marked the triple-blessed dayof Lord Buddha’s Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinirvana. Consul-General Siriporn offered heartfelt floral tributes and paid homage to the sacred Buddha relics, deeply honouring the significance of the Day. In a warm gesture of friendship and shared cultural heritage, Consul-General Siriporn also presented a traditional Thai offering of sticky rice with mangoes to the venerable monks – a symbol of goodwill and prayers for peace, compassion, and the well-being of all. The ceremony welcomed monks, dignitaries, devotees, and followers from across communities, reflecting the enduring relevance of Lord Buddha’s teachings of wisdom, harmony, and kindness.
Sharing her sentiments, the Consul-General said, “It is a blessing to partake in this sacred observance here in Kolkata. May the light of Lord Buddha’s wisdom continue to bring peace, strength, and lasting happiness to all. ”This meaningful participation underscores Thailand’s continued commitment to fostering cultural, spiritual, and people-to-people ties with India.
